depth Psychotherapy Works

“We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are.”

~ Anonymous

I believe that true, deep healing - even through talk therapy - must include the spiritual dimension.

At the same time, one must be very careful of "spiritual bypassing", which is when one uses spirituality as a way to avoid their history, traumas, and feelings.

My approach to psychotherapy brings together several threads:

  • Piecing together your history and how it has shaped you (many people don't realize just how crucial it is to know your story very well!)

  • Spirituality, using many different elements (mindfulness practices, exercises, rituals, etc.)

  • Holistic awareness of the body

I work with many people who consider themselves being on the spiritual path (in fact, we all are!) Often, they find themselves drawn to being healers in various modalities (whether that is their main occupation or not).

I have discovered, including through personal experience, that those who are drawn toward the healing arts tend to have specific issues they bring to their work and their personal lives that can cloud their ability to be present, effective, and balanced in their day-to-day lives. Often, these issues come from early programming and unconscious beliefs and inner conflicts that need to be unpacked and integrated.

This is where I believe I may be useful in their process.

My goal is to help people become more conscious of their patterns so that they can recognize past choices that were made from unconscious programs and beliefs.

I am a natural empath and an HSP ("Highly Sensitive Person"). Sensitivity does not mean being volatile or easily upset -- although for some people this is the case. I deeply believe (know in my bones, in fact), that being a sensitive person is an enormous gift as it offers you tremendous amounts of information about the world that is not available to many. However, learning to understand and getting that information organized internally, is actually a process that can take quite a while (and is in fact a lifelong task!) I find I am best suited for other HSP's and those whose Myers-Briggs personalities are being Intuitive Feelers or Intuitive Thinkers (INFP, ENFP, INFJ, or ENFJ).

My intention is to help you discover what stands in your way and work through the insecurities and unconscious conflicts that keep you stuck. We will create a healing, empathic environment where you can have the space to grow and to be seen for all of who you are. And then we will work on helping you express your most authentic self with everyone in your life.
